It was a dream for Justin and Karen Buxton, owners of Finns Island Style Grab, to open a taco stand in Panama City Beach. In 2009, that dream became a reality when they opened their first grub spot in 2009. In 2012, Justin and Karen opened their second location in Little Village.
Finns Island Style Grub in Little Village is away from the hustle and bustle and tucked away in a quaint corner of Panama City Beach. Joe, a long time employee of Finns, spoke to us about the location.
“It’s a lot quieter and laid back than the beach,” he says. “We also have live music and plenty of space to lounge out.”
With a name like ‘Finns Island Style Grub,’ you probably want to know about the grub. The food is mostly tacos and burritos with an emphasis on fresh, local seafood. Joe talked about the quality of the food.
“There is definitely a focus on keeping the food both good and healthy,” says Joe. “Justin and Karen come from the surfing community, so staying healthy and active is a way of life.”
One of the healthy favorites at Finns Island Style Grub is the Ahi Tuna Tacos. The tuna is sesame seared and served with fresh cabbage, spring mix, pico, cilantro, Sriracha and honey wasabi — who said eating healthy has to be boring?
When it comes time to wash it all down, Finns is carrying Noli South Kombucha. Noli South is brewed and bottled right here in Panama City Beach. With flavors like carrot-orange and lemongrass lavender, you’ve never had kombucha quite like this!
Come meet some of the locals.
